Bath Time

Josie: "Mommy Mommy I need a bath."
Elai: "Come on Josie lets take a bath."
The two of them: Run away laughing as if they are up to something.
One minute they are best friends and the next they can't seem to get along.

These little moments are the ones I cherish the most.

Snow Day

Elai has been asking me all day if we could go outside and build a snowman.  I'm not really one for being out in the cold so I promised him that as soon as his daddy got home, we would go outside.  But when we got outside we quickly realized that the two and a half feet of snow in our front yard was not good for making a snowman.  It just wouldn't roll properly.

So instead, we decided to make...
 an Elai-Man.
Of course he loved every moment of it.
This just might have been the most fun he has had in the snow all year.
I'm so glad I have this man in my life.  He is such a great daddy.

Oh and Josie was there too, she just wasn't very excited about the snow today.
We made snow angels,
 ate a little snow,
jumped in snow piles, had a snow ball fight and finished off with a cup of hot cocoa.
Life is Good.

A Birthday Brunch

Josie's birthday brunch was a success!  This year I had a difficult time planning Josie's birthday party.  I felt like she was to young for most of the ideas I had.  So after searching pinterest I decided we should do a waffle bar.  Waffles are her favorite thing to eat.  I got my inspiration from here.

Being the cheap person that I am I decided to make my own decorations.  Remember this window project?  I had to write a little something on it in honor of our birthday girl.

I decorated the tables in photographs that my friend Sarah from The Winthrop Chronicles took.  I just used frames that I already had and swapped out the pictures.

The Desert Table

I incorporated these cute little cupcake stands I got last summer.  I love to find reasons to use them.

I made a couple of miniature pompoms and windmills to add a little bit of texture to the table.

The desert table was my focal point.

And of course a picture of the birthday girl!  She was so excited when she woke up this morning and saw all the decorations.  I don't think she realized it was all for her though.  Happy Birthday to my sweet baby girl.

The Big 2

Josie

Favorite Person: Daddy
Favorite Book: Any
Favorite Color: Purple
Favorite Toy: Baby Doll
Favorite Song: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
Favorite Food: Salad with Ranch Dressing

Wow, the past two years have sure flown by.  This little girl has taught be so much.  How to love, laugh, cry.  She always keeps me on my toes.  Her favorite word is "NO" said with attitude.  She reminds me so much of myself that it scares me.  But then when she runs to me with open arms or makes smooching sounds so I will come give her a kiss, I realize she has me wrapped around her finger.

Playing Sick

Over the past month we have all had a case of something or another.  Just when one person seems to get better, it comes back with vengeance.  Elai missed an entire week of school.  We found ourselves enjoying lots of warm blankets, hot cocoa, and coloring.

I love these precious times together.  The times when we can all stay home bundled up in our pjs and enjoy each other.

Halloween

I know I haven't been on here lately so I promise to catch up.  I have started back to school and that takes most of my free time but I wanted to share our Halloween.
This year my dreams finally came true!  I have always wanted our family to dress up as color crayons.  Though Zech wasn't keen on the idea, he knew it would make me happy so he joined in.

Zech's school put on a little party the Saturday before Halloween for all the kids in town.  They had games, crafts, snacks, and a cat walk.

Zech strutted his stuff on the cat walk and our family got all 10s!!!  After the party we took the kids home for a nap before going to our ward's trunk or treat.  Again there was food, games, and or course trunk or treating.

As for actual Halloween, the kids were all sick so we stayed in and had a little party instead.  He had pumpkin shaped pizza, decorated sugar cookies, painted and enjoyed each others company.

Over all we had a great time.  Our children are getting to really fun ages.  Elai got the hang of the whole trick or treating thing this year.  Josie thought painting was the funnest thing in the entire world.  Having children sure makes holidays more enjoyable.
